Purpose of project

To assess the contribution of the mineral oil and gas refining sector to emissions to air of a suite of pollutants proposed for inclusion in a potential expansion of the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR).

What we delivered

  • Review of the relevance of each pollutant in mineral oil and gas refining.

  • Assessment of the potential significance of emissions of each relevant pollutant from the refining sector, taking account of sectoral emissions and total industrial emissions.

  • A summary report presenting findings, and highlighting relevant and significant pollutants for further consideration by the sector. Published online.
